Breeders Cup: Come with Frankie Dettori to the final two days of his career

Here's your itinerary, getting you to the heart of America's racing world

The Breeders Cup is staged annually at venues across the United States, but so many jockeys, trainers, owners and racegoers say there's truly no more stunning location than Santa Anita. This year's edition will be extra special, of course, as our ambassador Frankie Dettori signs of with (we hope!) a flying dismount or two, at what will be his final two days as a jockey.

Frankie turned Santa Anita into a personal playground last Christmas, and he's taking you with him as he jets back. If you book our Ultimate Frankie Experience, you'll receive an invitation to an exclusive drinks evening with Frankie and other racing celebrities on the Wednesday of your arrival, and you'll also have transfers to and from a marquee breakfast on Thursday morning, when you can enjoy a gourmet breakfast as horses exercise out on track.

And may we suggest, as you're already half way round the world, you consider flying on to the Melbourne Cup? It might sound crazy, but dates and locations have, this year, perfectly aligned, allowing you to hop over the Pacific and arrive in Australia on the day of the Melbourne Cup: the race that stops the nation. From one sundrenched oasis to another... one global sporting spectacle to another. It's an opportunity not to missed, surely?!

Your race day experience, looking across to the Sierra Nevada

Amongst the orange groves, and under an unbroken blue sky, we'll place you at the heart of the Breeders Cup's thunderous energy, with reserved Grandstand Seats on the third floor of Santa Anita's mezzanine level included. Access to these seats offers some of the best views of the track, from the top of the stretch to the finishing post.

If, however, you'd like to go the extra mile, we're more than happy to provide an upgrade, at just £925pp, to take in Trackside Dining on the first floor of the Clubhouse. Overlooking the finishing line, you'll be served a gourmet lunch, quench your thirst with a dedicated cocktail service, and enjoy access to betting facilities conveniently located nearby.

And last (but certainly not least) your accommodation, in the heart of LA or Pasadena

The Pasadena Hotel & Pool really is as simple as it sounds. Placed in the heart of bustling Pasadena, the hotel sits on the corner of Colorado Blvd and South Mentor Ave. Built in 1926 by local businesswoman Constance G.L. Perry, guests will enjoy access to a rooftop bar and terrace, a cocktail bar, an in-house restaurant, and free daily breakfast on us.

For guests, however, who'd prefer to base themselves in LA itself, how about the historic Mondrian Hotel, nestled between West Hollywood and Beverley Hills? The hotel has served as a filming location for various music videos, has hosted movie launch parties, and is under an hour by road from both the racetrack and LA's cultural centre.
