Winter: The joy of racing in the bitter cold

The last section of the year is, undoubtedly, a huge time for racing. The Arc de Triomphe and Champions Day serve as end of season celebrations on the flat, and are an opportunity to see some of the very best horses of the year, honour the last rides of treasured icons, and welcome in an exciting new generation, with eyes already looking to next year. The champions are crowned, the turf season goes on its winter hiatus. But it’s not the end. International race days, big nights on the all-weather... as well, of course, as prominent jump meetings, provide opportunities to enjoy a grand day out.
