Dublin Racing Festival

Dublin Racing Festival's sophomore year a stellar success! With the brilliant second running of the Dublin racing festival the Leopardstown initiative has firmly cemented itself as a key fixture in the jumps calendar.

The combination of top-class national hunt racing and Dublin’s unique party atmosphere makes this event a must for both jumps fans and those looking to enjoy the craic. This year the extra spice of a 6-nations rugby clash between Ireland and England taking place in Dublin made the atmosphere in an around the city even more special. The Racing did not disappoint with Apples Jade putting on a scintillating display in her demolition job of rivals in the Irish Champion Hurdle. Bellshill and Road to Respect fought out an epic finish to the showpiece Unibet Irish Gold Cup.

There were also future stars on show with Joseph O’Brien’s Le Richebourg & Sir Erec both impressively stating their Cheltenham claims for the Arkle & Triumph hurdle respectively. Not to be outdone messrs Elliott & Mullins unleashed some of their young guns with Klassical Dream and Envoi Allen exciting winners. The fantastic racing, stunning views from the Leopardstown grandstands and just a short 20 minute tram ride from Dublin’s vibrant centre make this a great addition to the programme. The only question is why no one thought of it earlier? Here's our very own MD on a stag weekend, couldn't be a much better recommendation could there?
