Be Wiser Jumps Season Finale

The 2017/18 Jump season at Newbury draws to a close with two days of competitive racing and a chance to see some promising young horses perform in a relaxed, informal atmosphere. Beer Goggles was a notable winner from last year, going on to win the Ladbrokes Long Distance Hurdle here in December.

Please note this is a six race card.

You could try out our Brasserie restaurant – it offers a fresh, seasonal menu in a relaxed informal atmosphere, with no pre-booking required. Food is served until approximately 40 minutes before the last race.

Where to be for the best views


The Premier Enclosure is Newbury’s most exclusive area and includes a fantastic range of indoor and outdoor food and drink options. The enclosure is made up of two stands - Berkshire and Hampshire, as well as the Centenary Bar and Mill Reef Suite. The Champagne and Seafood Bar can be found on the ground floor of the Hampshire Stand, whilst the first floor bistro or first rate Hennessey Restaurant is sure to provide a relaxed sit down meal. Situated directly in front of the Winning Post, the enclosure provides unsurpassed views of the racing, and easy access to the Parade Ring and Winner's Enclosure.


Situated opposite the final furlong, the Grandstand Enclosure offers guests outstanding views of the racing, as well as easy access to the Parade Ring and Winner’s Enclosure. A variety of food and drink outlets are available on the first floor, whilst the highly acclaimed Racegoers Restaurant is on the second floor.


Newbury’s picnic enclosure provides a relaxed experience for race goers, offering the perfect opportunity for enjoying a picnic whilst watching the horses battle it out down the home straight. Visitors will also be able to park their car in this enclosure.

What to wear


At an occasion such as Newbury, many racegoers consider this the perfect opportunity to dress up. Smart attire is to be worn, and gentleman are required to wear a collared shirt, although a tie is not obligatory. Whilst no sports/denim shorts, t-shirts, vests, sportswear, filpflops or sandals are to be worn, smart denim and long tailored shorts are allowed.


No bear chests, sportswear or ripped/torn denim is to be worn in the Grandstand Enclosure.

There is no dress code for children under 12

How to find us



Newbury train station has direct connections from London Paddington (approx 50 mins) and the West.


Situated only hour from both Heathrow and Southampton airports, Newbury racecourse is easily accessible for overseas racegoers. An airstrip and helicopter landing area, can also be arranged for use once reaching an agreement with the Clerk of the Course. Please call the racecourse for details - 01635 40015.



Conveniently situated in the centre of Southern England, in Berkshire, Newbury Racecourse is approximately only a couple of miles from Junction 13 of the M4 and is also easily accessible from the M3 and A34. The racecourse is clearly signposted from the M4 and from the A34 south of Newbury. On racedays, it is advised that all traffic approaching from the East, West or North via the M4 should travel along the A4 and follow the racecourse signs, before entering via Hambridge Road. There is now a new road bridge over the railway line at the eastern end of the racecourse and a new road layout on arrival. For those using SAT NAV, the nearest postcode to the bridge is RG14 5AW. Those arriving from the south from the A339, should follow signs and enter the course via Racecourse Road.


Parking is both plentiful and free at Newbury, with an individual car park for each enclosure.
