Cider & Sausage Festival
Celebrate the anniversary of our reopening and the start of the 2017/2018 season with an afternoon's racing celebrating local cider and sausage producers.
6 races and £70,000 prize are on offer as the country's leading Owners, Trainers and Jockeys return to Hereford Racecourse to begin the season's campaign.
The racecourse will also welcome a number of local, artisan cider and sausage producers to celebrate the very best of Herefordshire's home grown produce.
Since reopening in October 2016 we have enjoyed terrific patronage from local residents and businesses. We are again offering 2 for 1 tickets in advance to those with an HR postcode and will be hosting the Cotswold Corporate Business Networking Breakfast on the day as well, with leading speakers from Herefordshire business and industry.
The afternoon's racing will feature six races and £50,000 prize money.
ABF The Soldiers' Charity Raceday
Hereford Racecourse is partnering with ABF The Soldiers’ Charity for this inaugural charity raceday featuring seven races and £55,000 prize money. ABF The Soldiers' Charity is the National charity for the British Army here for every Soldier, veteran and their family - for life.
Hereford racecourse are proud to be helping them raise funds for servicemen and woman and amongst activities on the day with be giveaways at the entrance to the first 200 racegoers, ABF merchandise and bucket collection and we hope to source a national military choir to serenade racegoers during the afternoon.
Christmas Jumper Raceday
Back by popular demand is our Christmas Jumper Raceday and it promises to be bigger and better than ever! Our only weekend fixture this Autumn, the day is a fantastic way to get into the festive spirit and whilst you're here why not enter the Christmas Jumper competition!
A competitive day's racing sees £70,000 prize money on offer for the seven races, at last year's corresponding fixture Finian's Oscar made his British debut and won in a style he continued to do throughout the season including at Aintree's Grand National meeting last April.
There will be plenty of entertainment and festive music to enjoy, and our popular Christmas Cracker Raceday Package will be available soon offering admission, racecard, hot turkey roll, mince pie and a drink and is a great way to celebrate with friends, or why not bring your work Christmas Party here and combine this fab package with a day at the races.

The Grandstand and Paddock Enclosure
Within this enclosure you have access to the main Grandstand, Parade Ring and Winner's Enclosure. There are a variety of bars and catering outlets selling fast food and snacks.
How to find us
Hereford railway station is around one mile away from the racecourse and is no longer than a 5 minute taxi journey. If you're travelling from London there is a train from Paddington which will take you to Hereford station.
Helicopters may land on the courses with prior permission from the racecourse management on 01291 622260 or on a race day 01432 273560.
From the North the racecourse can be reached via the A49 from Leominster and the A4110. The Main southern approach roads are the A49 and the A465. The A438 through Hereford itself passes close to the racecourse and there is also an approach on the A4103 from Worcester.
What to wear
General dress code is smart casual however dress codes can vary for different events. If you are unsure call 01432 273560.
Hereford racecourse is almost square in shape with a circuit of about a mile-and-a-half. Opened in 1771 the course was greatly modernised in the 1960s, and in 1966 a photo-finish camera was installed. Having failed to obtain a new lease from the Hereford Council, Arena Racing Company ceased operations there in December 2012. Hereford staged its final Thoroughbred race meeting on 16 December 2012 but is still used for Arabian racing. The course was used by the North Herefordshire Hunt for a Point to point in May 2014 and was the venue for 2 point to points in 2015. The course also staged Arabian Horse Racing in 2015. Two point to points will again be staged at the course in 2016, the North Ledbury in April and the North Herefordshire Hunt at the end of May. The course will reopen for National Hunt racing on 6 October 2016, holding a maximum of four fixtures in 2016 with a possible twelve more expected to follow in 2017.
