Smart attire is expected of all guests (including children) attending the County Enclosure. Gentleman must wear a collared shirt, whilst Jeans, Sportswear or Trainers are not permitted.

Racecourse Information

The History

Situated in the centre of the UK, Doncaster is home to one of the UK's, top courses, and boasts some of the leading events on the horse racing calendar. Also known as Town Moor, the course hosts 2 of the UKs Group 1 Flat Races; both the St Leger and the Racing Post Trophy are established names - the former first running over Cantley Common in 1766. As the final leg of Britain's Stayers’ Triple Crown, the Group 2 Doncaster Cup as part of the Ladbrokes St Leger Festival is sure to provide you with a memorable experience, with stunning scenery on showcase from the main grandstand. The highly anticipated St Leger Stakes also falls in the week of St Leger Festival and is the final leg of the English Triple Crown. The Group 1 race was introduced a decade after the Doncaster Cup and holds the accolade of being the world's oldest classic horse race. As arguably one of the focal points of the racing calendar, the Ladbrokes St. Leger Festival in September is certainly not one to miss. Ladies, be sure to prepare yourself for the famous DFS Day midway through the festival. A team of independent fashion scouts will be present to choose who they believe to be the best dressed of the day.

Another highly anticipated event for the real racing enthusiasts is the Racing Post Trophy. As the UK's last group race of the season, the group 1 Classic takes place every October and offers next season's hopefuls an opportunity to showcase their talent, and one which, judging by previous years, has proved definitive in determining a future champion. However, it would be unwise to look no further into Doncaster history. The racecourse regularly hosts events such as the popular tattoo festival, plays host to many business meetings and offers live music and many activities for children. A £34 million refurbishment has only heightened Doncaster’s ranking amongst the world's top racecourses. Amongst the developments includes the impressive five storey grandstand.
