Grab a glass of red, red wine, because UB40 will be coming to Worcester Racecourse on Saturday 13th June to perform live after racing!

There are loads of great things to do in Worcester this Summer, and this has certainly made the list. Right in the city centre, you can make a full day of it, with thrilling racing and entertainment throughout the day, before listening to the upbeat reggae sounds of UB40 live in the superb surroundings of Worcester.

Celebrating 40 years in the business, the Birmingham Reggae and Pop Band UB40 has had more than 50 singles in the UK and sold over 70 million records worldwide. Their classics such as “Red Red Wine”, “Kingston Town” and ‘Homely Girl’ will have you dancing the night away.

UB40 tickets will be available for pre-sale at 10am on Friday 6th December followed by general sale on Friday 20th December. With such a popular band, we know this is going to sell out, so be sure to grab your ticket early to secure your spot.

Where to be for the best views

County Enclosure

Both the Croft Suite Bar on the first floor of the Grandstand and the Severn Restaurant on the top floor of the Grandstand are accessible by lift from the ground floor. The restaurant has stunning views of both the straights and all the jumps. It also has a Tote betting counter within the room. There are flexible table numbers and space for wheelchairs. There are televisions throughout the Grandstand to view the racing. Steps on the outside of the Grandstand make it unsuitable for wheelchairs, however there is a special trackside wheelchair viewing ramp beside the rails of the home straight, which is accessible for County Enclosure disabled visitors.

Grandstand Bar

Situated on the ground floor level with a bar and a Ladbrokes betting shop. There are disabled toilets just inside the main entrance to the Grandstand and catering concessions outside the Grandstand on the concourse.

Centre Course Enclosure

Steps on the outside of the Centre Course Bar make this unsuitable for wheelchairs, however drinks and snack food are available from the catering concession on the concourse. Disabled toilet cabin and betting are both also accessible on the concourse.

Severn Restaurant

The Severn Restaurant is situated on the second floor of the Grandstand with stunning views of the Racecourse and the River Severn (there is lift access to this floor).

What to wear

There is no strict dress code at Worcester Racecourse , racegoers are encouraged to dress to the theme of feature racedays.

Directions

By Train

There are frequent British Rail services to Worcester Foregate Station which is 10 minutes walk from the Racecourse and also to Worcester Shrubhill Station which is a 20 minute walk or 5/10 minute taxi ride from the racecourse.

Helicopter

Helicopter landing and takeoff facilities are available on the racecourse. Permission to be sought in advance from the Racecourse office on 01905 25364.

By Road

From the north or south take junction 6 off the M5 and follow the A449 towards Worcester City Centre. From the West take the A443 and A44, both offer good access to the city centre. Follow the brown racecourse signs. The Centre Course car park post code is WR1 3EH. The stable yard post code is WR1 3ED.
