Enclosures

Where to be for the best views

GORDON ENCLOSURE

Guests staying within the Gordon Enclosure will gain Parade Ring access, whilst also being able to enjoy standing viewing from the March Grandstand. Covered seating is available from within the Sussex Stand, where you will be able to admire the racing from near the winning post. There are also many private boxes and bars with a variety of casual dining options and live music. For a glorious fine dining experience visit the Sussex Bistro restaurant. No dress code is required. Please Note: Guests in the Gordon Enclosure will also have access to the Lennox Enclosure.

LENNOX ENCLOSURE

The Lennox Enclosure is the most relaxed at Goodwood. With large areas of flat grass, the enclosure is a popular spot for picnics and this combined with its large childrens playground also make it an ideal place for families. It is important to note however, that if you do wish to bring a picnic, glass bottles and alcohol are forbidden. There is also a host of traditional food and beverage outlets onsite. No dress code is required.

RICHMOND ENCLOSURE

As the premier enclosure at Goodwood, guests staying in this area will receive unrivalled views of the racing and the winners enclosure, and a vantage point directly overlooking the winners post can be enjoyed from the comfort of covered seating in the March Grandstand. The area also features a number of stylish and sophisticated bars including the Champagne Lawn and 1812 Bar, as well as several restaurants and private boxes. Guests will also have access to all facilities within the Gordon and Lennox Enclosures. It is important to note that gentleman staying in this enclosure must wear a jacket and tie with jeans not permitted, whilst it is suggested that ladies wear an effortless summer wedding outfit, and of course - the headgear!

What to wear

A week at Goodwood provides the perfect opportunity for those looking to experiment with the latest addition to their wardrobe. The festival is also one of the few places where it is possible to go all out with your choice of hat - whether elaborate or elegant. For the ladies, an effortless, yet vibrant summer look is a popular choice, perhaps a summer wedding outfit. For the gents, a smart, yet relaxed look is recommended. Although only compulsory in the Richmond Enclosure, a jacket and tie are encouraged. However, whatever attire you choose, be sure to feel comfortable - after all, Goodwood is one of the most photographed events of the year. It is important to note that while the Lennox Enclosure is the most relaxed, bare chests and fancy dress are not permitted. Gentlemen are also strongly discouraged from wearing shorts and sleeveless tops in the Gordon enclosure, whilst no jeans are allowed in the Richmond Enclosure.
