Overview
The International Jockeys' Championship certainly lives up to its reputation as the premier contest of its kind on the global calendar.
Each year in December at Happy Valley Racecourse, a record HK$800,000 prize is shared by the top three placed riders. The jockeys compete over four races and are awarded points based on their finishing positions. The highest points accumulated will be the night's champion, as well as the evening's Jockey Challenge winner!
It is the first of the major events in a week-long celebration of international racing and is followed by the Hong Kong International Races at Sha Tin Racecourse.
The Hong Kong International Races is an event consisting of the four most prestigious horse races in Hong Kong; the Hong Kong Cup, Hong Kong Mile, Hong Kong Vase and Hong Kong Sprint.
