General Admission

These tickets enable you to visit all public areas including the Bell Hall of the bookmakers.co.uk Grandstand with it’s extensive bars and fast food outlets, the Patterson Bar on the 1st Floor of the Grandstand,the Red Rum Bar, Family Bar, Parade Ring and Pre-Parade Ring. The Generals Bar & BBQ will also be open for some fixtures.

Premier Enclosure

Carlisle racecourse opens the Premier Enclosure on feature racedays. This allows access to our first floor Patterson Bar and facilities. As well as the Bell Hall of the bookmakers.co.uk Grandstand with it’s extensive bars and fast food outlets, the Patterson Bar on the 1st Floor of the Grandstand,the Red Rum Bar, Family Bar, Parade Ring and Pre-Parade Ring. The Generals Bar & BBQ will also be open for some fixtures.

Dress Codes

What to wear

Despite having no specific dress code, Carlisle still prides itself on matching the standards that are set on the racecourse with suitable attire. Whilst at the Grandstand and Paddock areas, it is advised that sports shoes and denim shorts are not worn. The club also strongly suggests getting dressed up for events, particularly Ladies Night, which is known for displaying an extensive variety of glamorous hats.

Directions

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

On racedays, a bus service runs from Carlisle Bus Station to the Racecourse at a reasonable fare of £1.60 each way. Buses run 90 and 45 minutes before the first race and return to Carlisle 5 minutes and 35 minutes after the last.

The Racecourse is also nearby to the town's train station, which runs on the West Coast main line and lies 102 miles South of Glasgow Central and 299 miles North of London Euston.

Carlisle Airport is only 8 miles from the Racecourse.

ROAD DIRECTIONS

Carlisle Racecourse can be easily accessed from the M6, with the motorway only a few miles away. Come off the motorway at Junction 42 and follow signs to Dalston. After following the road for approximately 2 miles, turn right at a staggered junction. The racecourse can be found only a mile away on the left hand side.

If arriving from the West, the racecourse can be easily accessed from the A595 following signs to Carlisle. Roughly 1 mile after the Thursby Roundabout take a right signposted for Dalston and follow this road until hitting a T-Junction. From here, take a right until you come across Bridge End Pub, where you should turn left over the bridge and follow signs for Durdar. At the next junction turn left and the destination can be found in about a mile on the left hand side.

Parking

There is a free public car park opposite the Main Grandstand and coach parking is free. There is also Trackside Car Parking available for £10.00 per vehicle (Annual members £5.00) which is located alongside the racetrack.
