Bath Ladies Day

One of the stand out days on the Bath social calendar, join fellow racegoers as horse racing and style combine at our ever-popular Ladies Day.

The one day of the season when the fashion is as important as the racing, stylish outfits and ornate hats will be in abundance as ladies compete for the title of Best Dressed Lady 2019. The hotly contested annual Best Dressed competition will see racegoers compete for a huge cash prize for the most elegant outfit plus extra goodies - watch this space for details to be confirmed.

It doesn't matter if you're new to racing or if you're a seasoned racegoer, the atmosphere on Ladies' Day can't be beaten; soak it up as your horse thunders down the home straight and join in with thousands of racegoers cheering on their horses in each of our seven thrilling races.

As well as the racing and fashion, there will be plenty of scrumptious food and drink available as well as champagne aplenty. Plus live music throughout the day.

Centre Course Enclosure (from £12.00)


Drive into the centre of the course and pick your spot to enjoy the racing and a picnic. You’ll have access to place a bet and grab a snack but please be aware these facilities are limited. A good value ticket option for families.


Grandstand Enclosure (from £23.00)



Where to be for the best views


Guests staying in the Grandstand Enclosure will have access to all public areas of the racecourse including viewing of the parade ring, numerous bars and food outlets, as well as access to betting outlets.

Centre Course

Centre Course is the ideal enclosure for those with families. With acres of space available, parking is possible within this enclosure, and picnics are often enjoyed here. There is also a bar which serves snacks and provides betting facilities.

The Roof Garden

Located on the top floor of the Laringe Stand, the Roof Garden offers guests a fantastic al fresco dining experience with magnificent views across the rolling Bath countryside. The enclosure features a sophisticated bar and Tote facilities, as well as a food outlet offering charcaturie style sharing platters with local meats and cheeses. As an exclusive area, a smart dress code is required.

What to wear

Racegoers visiting the private hospitality suites and restaurants should wear smart attire, whilst the dress code for shared hospitality is smart casual (smart jeans and tailored shorts are acceptable). Dress code in the Grandstand Enclosure is also smart casual and sports shirts, ripped jeans, casual shorts and trainers are all not permitted. Ladies Day on the 20th August is always a glamorous occasion at Bath and provides the perfect opportunity for ladies to dress up and try out an elegant hat.

How to find us



A bus service operates on racedays (approx 10 - 15 mins) The bus picks up from the bottom of Manvers Street (opposite Bath Spa train station), and stops off at Guildhall and Alfred Street before dropping off at the racecourse. Fares are £4 for a one way ticket and £5 for a return, whilst children under 15 travel free when accompanied by a fare paying adult.


Bath Racecourse is easily accessible by train from both the main London Paddington and South Wales lines and there are regular connections from Bristol, Cardiff and Birmingham.


Those wishing to land a helicopter should seek prior permission from the racecourse on 01225 424609.



Bath is conveniently located only 6 miles South of Junction 6 of the M4 and is clearly signposted from all major routes up until its location - ‘Lansdown Hill’.


Parking at Bath is both free and plentiful.
